About 141 Miles

141 Miles is a publication about The Shore, known to outsiders as the Jersey Shore. There is some debate on what the shore is and is not, and where it begins and ends. If you do your research, you'll maybe come across several # of miles that emcompasses the shore. Some day 127m, some say 141m. I chose the latter as it just sounds better.

The Shore is an imperfect place where homeowners jostle over politics and visitors young and old overindulge. But there’s something magical about being situated so close to the sea’s expanse and, for many people, providing some slowing down to the grind they find in their daily lives. And, to those who live here full time, it’s a robust community that gets new travelers during the warm months.

There are a fair amount of resources available for those who want to learn about the latest sports scores, minutes from town meetings, rezoning discussions, all valid topics.

This publication is not that. It is intended to be part mood-board, part destination planner, part celebration of the towns and people that make the (Jersey) Shore what it is. The shore is a living thing, so too shall be this publication.

What is it?

141 Miles is, at heart, a publication serving the Jersey Shore. Our ambitions go way beyond that. But, for now, a catalogue of what to do and how to do it across the Jersey Shore.

Are you sure that’s possible?

Indeed. We will start our primary focus around the Barnegat Peninsula in Ocean County (Toms River, Seaside Heights and Park, Lavallette, Dover Beaches, etc.) but we will also take pitches and stories from anywhere.
