The southern half of Seven Mile Island, known for beaches, a walkable shopping district, nature areas, and a quieter upscale atmosphere. Stone Harbor is more compact than Avalon and has a slightly softer, village-like feel around 96th Street. The beach, bird sanctuary, bay access, and nearby Wetlands Institute give the town a strong coastal-nature identity alongside its summer-home culture.
