A protected barrier-island landscape south of Seaside Park, known for undeveloped beaches, dunes, surf fishing, birding, and bay-side access. Island Beach feels different from the towns around it because it is managed as a state park rather than a beach resort. It is one of the clearest examples of what the Jersey Shore looks like when boardwalks, hotels, and dense housing give way to preserved coastline.
