Like other mini golf courses, we've profiled, Pirates of Wildwood Mini Golf is seasonal. Unlike the others, it's an indoors course that use blacklights and 3D technology to create a kaleidoscopic adventure.
"Families LOVE our 18 Hole 3D Blacklight indoor AIR CONDITIONED mini golf, especially on a hot summer day," says Sissy Rutkowski, via email (ALL CAPS are hers), as she was gearing up for the BEST Memorial Day weekend EVER!
You can find the unique golf experience on the Wildwood boardwalk, which Rutkowski says creates a "shock and awe moment" to new visitors when they see "the fish on the 3D carpet swim around their feet and the pirate ship sails right off the wall!"
The unique setup surely attracts some first-time clientele. She adds that those who come by once will eventually stop by multiple times to try to best theirs and the other members of their families'scores.
"We have so many different 3D amenities, they often discover something new they missed the first time through," Rutkowski says.
The dark, neon course is a welcome reprieve from an overbearing sun, but also is also a great option when the weather is misbehaving. "Don't stress a rainy day...we are the perfect indoor rainy day activity!"
Pirates of Wildwood is unlike other golf course in another way: it's always changing.
"We try to add something new and different every new season. We often add new challenges to our course, new obstacles to navigate, something new to ogle," Rutkowski says. "Such as additional free amenities such as free 3D glasses or free pirate patches for all children who complete the course and achieve official Pirate status!
When not golfing, Rutkowski recommends visiting the beach and ambling down the rest of the boardwalk.
"I love how family friendly the Wildwood Boardwalk has become with more amusements and family-themed attractions every year," Rutkowski says. "And I HIGHLY RECOMMEND our clean and wide FREE beaches. You have lots of room to spread out, play ball, picnic, and beach it!"
And if you missed out on the core summer months, Rutkowski recommends visiting, especially those with small children, the "shoulder seasons," in September after Labor Day.
"They are some of the best times to visit The Wildwoods! The rates are discounted and the crowds are less," Rutkowski says. "I always recommend to my families with small children that they should visit us in September. The water is still warm, no crowds and bargains abound!"
